Enter at least 2 design competitions/ shows per year (core77, ID mag, ect)
Build a professional resume by finding freelance work (3 small projects/ yr)
Go to ICFF as attendee every year it takes place
Be showcased in at least one satellite show during NY Design week
Take at least 2 weeks each year to travel
Continue to learn manufacturing processes for design
Continue to work in a design related job
5 years from now
Be guest lecturer, teacher or visiting designer at a university (RISD!)
Do a collaboration with a designer friend!
If previous jobs are unsatisfying, find a job related to my interests/ aesthetic

Thanks for the being the first to post. Looks good, but I think you should be more ambitious. I think you will be able to achieve everything you have here; its sort of “business as usual” for you. Is there anything here that you will really need to push yourself to achieve (more so than you already do)? Perhaps it’s a matter of being more specific; instead of “5 magazines” maybe you want to be explicit about what caliber of publication you mean (The New York Times or your hometown paper?). This is just an example, but being more specific about some of your goals might paint a better picture for me. Don’t be afraid to be outrageous. What about having your work collected or exhibited by a museum? What about having your work in production by a company you respect? What about exhibiting in Milan? What about showing with some of the designers you admire? Indulge yourself, for now.
